iChai2 Sticky Chai Frequently Asked Questions:

HOW DO I BREW MY STICKY CHAI?

Cover the base of your Chai pot with 1cm of water.  Add I tbsp of iChai2 sticky chai and let heat for a minute.  Add 200ml of milk (I prefer Almond) . Let this steep for 3-5 minutes or until the aroma tickles your nose (do not boil) Strain and serve. Find a cosy spot and enjoy.

WHAT IS YOUR SHIPPING METHOD?

We use Australia Post. Your Chai will arrive in a satchel. If you wish your parcel to be left if you are not at home, please include that with your order details.

DO YOU SHIP OVERSEAS?

No we don't.  Australian addresses only.

DO YOU EXPRESS POST?

Yes we do.  You can select this in the shipping section.  Prices vary.

DOES IT MATTER WHAT MILK I USE?

NO. I prefer almond and I make my own.  Its cheap, insecticide free and delicious. You can use whatever you wish however.  iChai2 is best brewed on milk as it brings out the flavour of the spices and it lessens the bitterness of the black tea.

DOES CHAI HAVE CAFFEINE?

Our Signature & Vegan Blends do, yes. However there is an amino acid in tea that works with the caffeine to relax the body.  Additionally the high levels of antioxidants slow the absorption of caffeine, meaning a gentler spike and longer alertness. 

BREWING FOR BARISTAS?

6OZ CUP - Add 15gm(heaped Tbsp) of chai to jug with approx 80ml boiling water.  Let steep while you heat 100ml milk with steam arm. Add milk and let steep 3 min before straining and serving.

8OZ CUP - Add 25gm(1 1/2 heaped Tbsp) of Chai to jug with approx 90ml boiling water.  Let steep while you heat 150 ml milk with steam arm.  Add milk and let steep 3 min before straining and serving.

TEAPOT - 12OZ Add two heaped Tbsp of chai to strainer. Pour in 150 ml boiling water.  Make sure tea is sitting in water to steep for a minute.  Head the milk 200ml with steam arm and add to pot.  Let it steep with customer at the table.

HOW MANY CUPS WILL I GET OUT OF MY CHAI?

In a 125 gram bag you will get approximately 8 cups of sticky chai. Based on 1 TBSP being approx 15 grams

WHAT SORT OF HONEY DO YOU USE?

We use a 100% Raw and natural Local honey - Cold pressed (unheated) Triple strained and cold extracted to remove wax particles and other impurities.

HOW TO COLD BREW?

Step 1, Put 15gms (1 heaped tbsp) chai into a mason jar.  Step 2, Add 1 cup of milk (Plant based milks work so well with chai).  Step 3, Replace the lid and pop it in the fridge for 12-24 hours (longer is stronger). Serve over ice.
